Nineteen high powered individuals from Montreal, Philadelphia and Florida arrived to Israel to participate in Atidim’s April 2010 Delegation. Hosted by Atidim’s International Board Co-chairs, Leanor Segal from Montreal and Eitan Wertheimer from Israel, the whirlwind mission featured visits to some of Israel’s most sensitive military bases and security-based industries where Atidim graduates are now working.
The group was met by President Shimon Peres and major leaders in the army and industry, including former Minister of Defense and Knesset member Lt. General Shaul Mofaz, Chief of Military Intelligence Major General Amos Yadlin, Commander of the Israeli Navy Admiral Eli Marum and Air Force Commander Major General Ido Nechustan.
“I am just imbued with the wonders of Atidim,” says Leila Meyerson from Boca Raton and New York. Meyerson was invited to come on the Mission by her friend Leanor Segal. “This is the first time I’ve seen the work of Atidim. It amazes me how the program takes bright young people and gives them the opportunity to get ahead. In turn, they respect this opportunity and put their ambition and drive toward incredible accomplishments.”
Stephen Klein of Philadelphia, a long-time Friend of Atidim, was awed by the energy of the Atidim students and their passion to succeed. “The real success of this program is the young men and women who strive to be the best of the best. In turn, they all want to help others as Atidim helped them,” says Klein. “Something very special is happening with this program and I am proud to be a small part of it.”
Sandra and Steven Mintz from Montreal are strong supporters of Atidim. “It’s simply an incredible program,” says Steven. His wife wholeheartedly agrees. “I have been an educator for many years,” says Sandra, “and I have never come across a program quite like Atidim, that manages to motivate students so highly and has such a tremendous success rate. Simply put, Atidim is a program that works.”
