Joan Stern Scholarship Recipients

From left: Reut Kidron, Yerushalem Baruch and Shiran Barzilai, dynamic young law students in the Atidim Cadets for Public Service Program, were recipients of the Joan Stern Scholarship. Stern, one of the United State’s top public finance attorneys and Co-chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Center for Israel and Overseas, dedicated the scholarships in loving memory of her sister Miriam Gafni (z”l). Miriam, a well-known Jewish community leader, lawyer and women’s rights activist, made aliyah and was killed in a tragic car accident in 1994.
