About us

Atidim operations focus on building a strong Israeli society by maximizing the human potential found in the periphery for the benefit of individuals, society and the economy.  Atidim cultivates excellence, supports higher education and provides the tools needed for its participants to become active contributing members of Israel society.

The real distance between the periphery and the center of the country is not measured in miles

The gaps between the periphery and the center of the country are growing larger.  These gaps are not only due to economic differences; there are psychological gaps and disparities in the opportunities available.  As opposed to their peers in the center of the country, many of the youth in the periphery do not dream about an academic education and despite their potential they do not believe in their ability to succeed and move ahead.

Our task: to encourage them to dream and assist them in making these dreams come true

At Atidim we believe that through education, nurturing and enrichment it is possible to encourage these youth to allow themselves to dream and to enable them to realize their abilities. We believe that it is only in this way that real, long term change in the periphery will occur.

Being realistic is dreaming

Atidim encourages young men and women from the periphery to invest in their studies and strive towards excellence.  We open the gates of academia for these young people - gates which many of them would never have otherwise approached, and connect them to businesses and organizations which will provide them employment opportunities in the future.

Atidim from age 13 to 30

Atidim operates a variety of unique programs and tracks, beginning with programs for youth of high school age and continuing through the IDF academic reserve, university and employment.  Our programs aim to open doors, broaden opportunities and increase the chances of success of these young people.  The participants in Atidim programs reflect the complex fabric of Israeli society and include: Ethiopian immigrants, Bedouin, Cherkessk, Druze, Arab and native Israelis.
